5th Gear - Video

[Asami has waited a few days to post this, gotten through the initial emotional shock of it. Yes, Korra is fine, and she knows that. But she's not here, anymore. And if what she's heard about going home is true, she won't remember anything about being here.

When the video turns on, she looks a little weathered. Definitely tired, as she rests against the side of a giant Arcanine. She didn't cry this morning, that's a start.]

Korra's gone home.

[Asami pauses. She hasn't really thought out the post any further than that. Taking about this is more difficult than just stewing and processing.]

Just... thought her friends would like to know. If you ended up with any of her Pokémon, could you tell me? I'd just like to know, that's all.

It's not surprising. You two have a lot of people that care for you both. They miss Korra as well, though I doubt their pain can ever equal yours.

[She knows loss of loved ones all too well.]

[Asami's weak smile becomes a little more genuine.]

She has that way about her. Touching people's lives no matter where she goes or what she does. I know it's silly, but... She really is like a light.

She's the most important person in the world, to me.

[Asami admits this quietly, staring down rather than at Lightning.]

Maybe that's not healthy, but I didn't really have a choice, back home.

The more important someone is, the greater the pain. I know how that feels.

[She's taking her time to formulate a reply. In the end she decides to to just go with what her heart was saying. That part was getting easier.]

If you have hope and faith you'll see her again, then hold on to it. Take it with you when you go back home. Your heart will remember everything you two had here, even if your mind doesn't.

.... and when it comes to other people, don't care about what they say. Love is important.

I don't think much will even change, once we've forgotten everything for good.

[Even voicing it is difficult, though.]

But thinking about it right now is the scary part.

It will always be scary. There is really no way to accept it, either. All you can do is learn to cope with those feelings. It sounds like a bad thing, but in the long run it's much healthier to cope.

[She gives her a faint smile.]

If you keep hoping and are willing to defy what fate you think is controlling you, you can make miracles happen.

I don't know if pure willpower can just overcome something we don't even understand, but it's a comforting thing to think about, I guess.

Just... don't push your friends away. Alright? Korra wouldn't want that, and it's easier to heal with others there to support you.

I don't think you have to worry too much about that.

[She's had more than enough "away from friends" time to never want to push them away.]

Good.

[She feels that this conversation probably has lasted a lot longer than expected. Light's surprised that this wasn't like the horrible intro they had with each other last time. Maybe because Korra was the subject.]

I should let you go.

[Would it be okay to say 'see you around'?]
